I am coming to the end of my cell phone contract and have been going through the data stored on my phone. In the course of this rather banal task it became apparent that I have taken a large number of photos of two things: my dog and elevated train stations (or views from them). Since there are plenty of cute dog pictures already on the internet, I thought I would share a few of the elevated train pictures.
There is a certain calmness that always overtakes me while waiting on elevated trains that is in stark contrast with the anxiousness I feel below ground. It must be something about the expanse of sky and steel. Even in the snow and rain I have found the elevated stations to be often more pleasant than their underground counterparts, especially if a bakery exuding tasty smells happens to be below the station.
Hopefully my cell phone photo skills were able to capture something of the urban love I feel while waiting at the Myrtle/Broadway train station. Most of these pictures are along the J, M and Z lines in New York City at the Myrtle/Broadway, Knickerbocker and Myrtle/Wyckoff stations.

Loved those pictures. Know the neighborhood quite well.
